One Sentence → A Positioning Statement You'll Actually Use

Leave with one positioning sentence you can say out loud without cringing, plus a bio-length and a five-word version.

Foundation About 10 minutes

The small win

“I help people with X” isn’t a positioning statement, it’s a placeholder. You’ll need a real one the first time you introduce yourself in a comment, a bio, or an actual conversation — and writing it from scratch under pressure produces exactly the generic business-speak you’re trying to avoid.

This card gives you one prompt that turns a rough sense of what you do, who it’s for, and what changes for them into three usable versions — a full sentence, a bio-length version, and the shortest possible cut — checked against how you actually talk, not how marketing copy talks.

Bring

  • A rough sense of your skill, even if it’s not fully defined yet
  • A best guess at who you’re for
  • One real message or email you’ve written, so the result sounds like you

Human review still required

If you don’t yet have a real answer to “who I do it for,” this card can’t invent an audience for you — narrow that first. Read every version out loud before using it anywhere.
